Tips to help teen drivers safe.

Here are her tips for parents of teen drivers:

• Be a good role model to your teen. Always wear your seatbelt, don't be an aggressive driver and never use your mobile phone whilst driving.
• Insist your teen always wears a seatbelt. Its is important that you insist that your teen always wears a seatbelt and continues to do so. Statistics show that almost 50 percent of all teens who died in car crashes last year were not wearing them.
• Drive with your teenager occasionally. You will get firsthand experience of their driving abilities, weaknesses and any bad habits that may be picking up.
  
• Monitor night and weekend driving and the number of passengers in the car. It is estimated that teens crash more often after 11 p.m. on weekdays and after midnight on weekends more so when there are larger numbers of passengers in the vehicle.
