The Practical Driving Test
The practical test will include an eyesight test., where you will be required to read a number plate from a distance of 20.5 meters (67 feet).
You will then be asked two vehicle safety check questions, one 'show me' and one 'tell me' question. To find out more about the show me / tell me questions you will be asked please click here.
Next you will be examined on your general driving you will then be asked to complete two of the possible manoeuvre, you may also be asked to carry out an emergency stop. The practical driving test will last approximately 40 minutes.
You can make up to 15 minor driving faults, any more, or a serious or major fault will result in failure of the practical test.
The examiner will be assessing your safe driving of the vehicle and your knowledge of the Highway Code.
